Students from Northern Middle and Northern High Schools attended the Maryland Association of Student Councils Legislative Session held at Allegany High School on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Approximately 300 students and advisors gathered to review upcoming legislation, participate in workshops related to leadership, listen to candidates' speeches for Student Member on the Board of Education, and vote on two candidates to present to Governor O'Malley. Ben Feshbach and Justin Priester were elected as the two candidates in Saturday's session.
Students participated in workshops on Advocacy, Public Speaking, Parliamentary Procedure, Resume Building and Campaigning as well as other workshops. They also participated in two General Assembly meetings during the day-long session.
