FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1629 season kickoff is this Saturday, January 4th. On Saturday, all 2,700 FRC teams will learn via webcast what this year’s game will be. Teams will then have six weeks to design, build, and test their robots. Robots will compete in a 3 vs. 3 situation on a 27’x54’ play field - but the game the robots will play won’t be released until Saturday. After six weeks, all teams must stop work on their robots until they arrive at their respective regional competitions. FRC 1629 will be competing in Richmond, Virginia during March 20-22 and at the University of Maryland’s Comcast Center on April 3-5.

This Friday, January 3, the team will be hosting a Potato/Taco bar at Northern High School prior to the Northern-Southern Boys Basketball game from 3:30 to 6:00pm - $8.00 per person donation and takeouts will be available. Proceeds will be used to offset student travel expenses for the upcoming season.
