Lydia Secrist, a 4th grade student at Accident Elementary School, recently won the Maryland Municipal League’s "If I Were Mayor, I would..." contest from over 3,100 entries representing Maryland's fourth graders. She won from District 7 - Allegany and Garrett Counties. She is one of the 11 region district winners that will receive $100, a Governor's Citation, a boat cruise of Annapolis on the Harbor Queen, and honored in Annapolis at a special ceremony at the State House in May. In addition, she will be interviewed by a local radio station.
