GCPS Provides Information for Families: Delivery of Instruction for Individual Students in Quarantine or Isolation

When a student is absent due to quarantine or isolation, the school will provide work based on the current instruction in the classroom. Schools will provide student work through posted assignments in Schoology, online resources, paper packets, books, and other resources to help the student stay on track while absent from school. Students will submit work through Schoology or another approved method (when necessary). GCPS will follow standard operating procedures for recording grades for work completed in PowerSchool while students are in quarantine and isolation. The GCPS make-up work policy will be followed should a student be unable to complete work while in quarantine or isolation. GCPS will ensure that all students have access to a device and a hotspot will be available for those who have limited or no Internet access.
Schools will identify a liaison for each student who is required to quarantine or isolate. The liaison will ensure the student has the technology and curricular resources necessary to access instruction. Tutors and/or academic intervention staff have also been identified in each school to provide synchronous virtual instructional support, as needed. Additionally, school counselors, social workers, and other support staff will be available to support student's social-emotional needs virtually.
