Garrett County Public High School’s FIRST Robotics Team 1629, GaCo, competition season is over… pretty much before it started. However, during the time schools are closed due to the Coronavirus our team will be conducting local competitions in which all Garrett County youth can participate. The first round of competitions will include a Robot Poster Competition for all elementary students (Pre-K through 5) and a coding competition using Scratch, a web-based programming language, for all students in grades 3 through 8. Poster Contest. Download the instructions and template here. Contestants do not have to use the template, but we strongly recommend it in order to obtain all required information. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded in two divisions Pre-K through 2nd grade and 3rd through 5th grade. Winners will have their work displayed on our website and will receive Walmart or Amazon Gift cards in the mail complements of GaCo, Inc. Students entering into this competition will require a parent or guardian to create a Scratch account on their child’s behalf. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded in two divisions - Elementary and Middle School. Winners will have their work displayed on our website and will receive Walmart or Amazon Gift cards in the mail complements of GaCo, Inc. All Scratch projects are cloud-based by user account, but in order to share project links, users accounts must be verified by email. Submit entries using this Google Form
