Fourth Grade 2015-2016

Dr. James Thompson, West Virginia University, is one of our learning partners. He visits Crellin Elementary each week to work with students. Dr. Thompson leads fourth grade students through research studies investigating ecosystems, soils, compostings, and plants.
Students conducted a biological study in Snowy Creek. Using kicknets they collected samples and identified them to determine the health of the stream
A hydroponics system has been set up in our greenhouse by fourth grade students and will be used to grow vegetables. Students will compare the growth of plants using this system and using soil.
Students are conducting several soil experiments with Dr. Thompson.
